Dear Members,

We are continuing our discusses with the Authority and are closely monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The disease originated in Wuhan, China, and has since reached 37 international locations, including cases in the United States. The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that person-to-person spread will continue to occur and new cases will most likely be identified over the coming days and weeks.

Efforts by the CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), and others are focused on containing the spread and mitigating the impact of the virus, including multi-layered efforts to limit introductions of the virus to the United States.

As part of the response, the U.S. government suspended entry of foreign nationals who have been in China within the past 14 days and instituted extensive screening, health monitoring, and possible quarantining for U.S. citizens and residents who have visited parts of mainland China over the past two weeks. The CDC has also issued a notice to avoid all nonessential travel to China, while the Department of Homeland Security has been redirecting all flights from China and all passengers who have visited China to 11 airports throughout the United States with increased health screening capability.

In the meantime, there are steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including getting a flu vaccine, taking everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of germs, and taking flu antivirals if prescribed.

We will continue to share the latest information from the CDC as it becomes available.
