MTA’s Workers Compensation Contractor ‘Sedgwick’ Crashes in the First 2 Months!

In May, the Sedgwick company took over management of workers compensation claims from the MTA. Sedgwick was supposed to make the total compensation process quicker and easier but instead we found out that the only thing Sedgwick can do better is a worse job than the Transit Authority has done on their own.

Again, the MTA has gone outside of the agency to seek help and brought in a vendor and ends up making matters worse. The MTA says that Sedgwick was overwhelmed by the amount of claims they received from the MTA and also had a subcontractor quit on them, which combined is what caused this meltdown.

It doesn’t matter the excuse, No injured employee member should ever have to go without pay because of the MTA’s mismanagement and bad judgement!

We need to know if you have not received a compensation check, differential check or both. But you must call your division Chairman immediately so we can help you get the compensation pay you are entitled to. Lastly, we will be grieving all claims of late and non payments to our members.
