We are NOT authorizing any hourly employee to park in a bus lane, bus stop or other!

In letters sent to the Department of Buses, Chief Transportation Officer and the Department of Subways Executive Vice President, I put management on notice that no member of Local 106 will authorize an hourly employee by text or phone call to park their transit non- revenue vehicle in a bus lane, bus stop or anywhere else as protection of potentially breaking the law.

Local 106 has been in state Supreme Court and lobbying in Albany for an affirmative defense for non-revenue transit vehicles that are operating in the performance of their duties and nothing else will be acceptable. And we will not allow our members to get caught up with in a potential situation that may put the onus on them if someone we are supervising is parking illegally under the current law.
