Standing room only at 11-12-25 Gen Membership Meeting in Queens

We want to thank all of you that took the time out of your day to come to the General Membership meeting. Many of us believe this was the biggest membership turnout we ever had at a regular membership meeting. The Local 106 membership was rightfully angry and concerned about what they see happening inside the Transit Authority and wanted to know what we are doing to protect them against the terrible decisions being made in the Dept. of Buses. It was reassuring to learn that the membership stands firmly behind us as we start the major push back tomorrow November 14th, as we hit the streets and lobby support from the public and those NYC Council, Assembly and Senate members that will have their constituents most negatively affected by the plans of the NYC Transit Authority, which calls for the removal of 26 Bus Dispatchers from the road and re-assigning them to work at the Bus Command Center in Brooklyn that has a broken, malfunctioning and constantly under repair, bus radio system. We are fighting to protect the public and the operators that will most definitely be hurt the most if these dangerous moves are carried through. Stay tuned as this fight heats up and escalates.
