Dec 12th-NYC Transit Bus Command Center Total System Wide Outage
No one should be surprised that the BCC and BRS systems are all down at the Bus Command Center. This is exactly what we have been telling the Dept of Buses managers is the problem and why removing Bus Dispatchers from the road and re-assigning them to the BCC is a huge mistake. We have been telling management for months that the new $294 million dollar BCC radio system is a disaster with dropped calls and outages and that taking supervisors off the street to put them at a console desk with a faulty defective radio system is dangerous to the public and the bus operators.
Local 106 has a grievance on this issue, because obviously we as a Union are more concerned about protecting the riding public and fellow employee bus operators, than the Transit Authority is.
