Another Bus Command Center Systemwide Outage!

A so-called “state-of-the-art” command center is useless when the most basic tool — reliable radio communication — doesn’t work. Dropped transmissions, delayed responses, overlapping calls, and systemwide outages don’t just frustrate workers, they put riders and frontline employees at risk.
When dispatchers can’t reach operators in real time, buses bunch, service breaks down, and emergencies take longer to resolve. No amount of video walls or press releases can replace boots on the ground and a radio system that actually functions.
This is exactly why removing experienced dispatchers from the street and consolidating operations into a failing command center is reckless. Technology should support safety and service — not undermine it.
