Transit Worker Death Gamble Bill, Vetoed by Governor Hochul-AGAIN!

For the second year in a row Local 106 was able to get the NYC Transit Worker Death Gamble Bill to Governor Hochul’ s desk and for a second time Governor Hochul Vetoed the Bill.

This unfortunate Veto causesall NYC Transit Workers that are eligible to retire but continue to work past the eligibility of 25 years of service and age 55 vulnerable as they/we are gambling with our pensions if we die before retiring.

This Veto is a real punch in the gut for all Transit Workers that have dedicated most of their adult lives to serving the City of New York and have sacrificed so much.

We are considering another path for 2026, which may be doing one big beautiful Death Gamble Bill with all NYC and NY State Workers.
