Bus Lane Enforcement Bill, Signed by Governor Hochul!

Governor Hochul has now signed the Bus Lane Enforcement Bill! This is great news for our members and all NYC Transit Employees that have been unfairly slammed with fines from the Transit Authority and DOT while in performance of their duties. The Bill needs to go back to the Senate and Assembly when the new session begins in 2026 to approve the changes that we already approved, after that it’s law!

This is a major win and accomplishment for the TSO/TWU Local 106 especially since we are the originators of this Bill. Local 106 Senior Legislative Director Jose DeJesus, must be given tremendous credit for this Bill and although many of us worked hard to get this Bill passed, Jose was the one who got it done. Great Job Jose! This is why Jose is a top member of team 106 and the Senior Legislative Director.

We want to thank Governor Hochul for signing this Bill and we also want to thank Leroy Comrie from the Senate and Brian Cunningham from the Assembly for sponsoring this Bill. Without their sponsorship and support this Bill would not have been possible.
