The By-Law Amendments being proposed are to protect current retirees from active members negotiating away Retiree Medical Benefits and Traditional Medicare by forcing retirees into Medicare Advantage to enhance their bargaining position.

Another way to look at this, is when you’re older and retired and in the greatest need of your medical benefits you should not have to worry about your medical benefits being diminished by active members willing to sell you out to benefit themselves today. These Amendments would prevent that.
