Local 106 Bus Lane Enforcement Bill A8292/S6815 Moved to Governor’s Desk!
In the beginning of 2025 our Union had the Bill known as “Bus Lane Enforcement” drafted and sponsored by Senator Leroy Comrie and Assemblyman Brian Cunningham. That Bill A8292/S6815 gained tremendous support in both houses and on December 9th the Bus Lane Enforcement Bill was delivered to the Governor to sign.
If Governor Hochul signs this Bill, it will be a major victory for our Local (because this is our Bill) and our members who have been wrongfully ticketed, for operating under the direction of the Transit Authority in Transit vehicles in a bus lane.
We are expecting to find out in the next few days on whether or not the Governor will sign off or veto this bill. We will let you know as soon as a decision is made.
