Manhattan Road Dispatcher Brutally Assaulted

On Friday April 18th, one of our members that Dispatches Buses for Manhattan Road, was working his foot post at the Port Authority Bus Terminal and was brutally assaulted by a homeless man asking for money. When no money was given, the homeless man attacked, headbutting our member in his forehead punching him in the face and then kicking him in the stomach. Our member was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment and the homeless man was arrested.

Our member is recuperating at home from the injuries sustained in this brutal unprovoked attack and we hope he’s not traumatized over this, and will heal up and return to work when he’s ready.

Mayor Adams needs to do more to address the homeless crime in Manhattan, especially at the Port Authority, which for years has been a hot spot for crime and criminals to hangout. This issue needs to be dealt with and we’re calling on Mayor Adams to increase police presence and remove the dangerous homeless element that harass and assault people in and around the Port Authority Bus Terminal!
