Bus Radio System Failure Exposes Management’s Sneaky Tactics to Get Over on Radio Vendor, Clever Devices and Gets Caught!

We now know what caused the most recent major disruption and systemwide outage of the Bus Radio System (BRS) and CAD/GPS tracking system at the new 90 million dollar East New York Bus Command Center (BCC). Even though all of the systems at the BCC have not been operating properly since day one, what caused this latest massive several day systemwide outage was, Clever Devices (CD) the vendor that built all of the radio and bus tracking systems at the BCC found out on Friday December 12th that the Transit Authority had used a Subway Tech expert to create their own version of the CD technology and programs and implemented it on the Clever Network without permission from CD, which caused a collapse of the network. All of this was done to undermine the contract obligation between CD and the Transit Authority.

In short, the Transit Authority has a contract with Clever Devices and gets paid accordingly. The TA trying to be cute to work around the vendor, created and installed another faulty system to lay over the CD system, which already had not been operating properly from day one and both of those systems crashed with some help from the vendor CD.

The bus riding public and especially the bus operators have been put in harms way for well over a year, with a BCC radio system that can not handle the amount of calls that are generated at any one time from the largest bus fleet in the world operating in the largest city in the world.

When you have amateur’s and light weights running the NYC Transit Authority this is what happens!
