MTA Bus Contract Update July 28th

I had a very good positive conversation with Labor Relations today, and discussions right now are about one or two complicated issues regarding changes to the wage progression. I am not telling you we are getting pay parity because I have not heard those words come from their side yet but talks right now are positive with that goal in mind.

I was also at 2 Broadway on Wednesday and I will say, from what we discussed and what I saw, they kept their word and put a tremendous amount of work into the data gathering and analysis of this contract which gave me confidence that at least they are doing what they said they would do. One way or another we are coming to the end on this so keep doing what you do and we’ll keep doing what we need to do.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge and thank Chairman’s Rod Bailey and Pat Brennan for their assistance and great partnership throughout this long tough process. It’s been stressful for all of us and these two have really kept things together, so thank you!
