DEATH GAMBLE BILL…DEAD! VETOED BY GOVERNOR HOCHUL LAST NIGHT.

Last night December 13, 2024 Governor Hochul vetoed Death Gamble Bill S7224/A7563. This Bill would have protected the families of all Transit Workers that continued to work past 25/55 and die before they retire.

The reason given was the cost. That is absolute BS! Death Gamble Bill S7224/A7563 had a amazingly small cost. She vetoed our Bill because similar Bills had a much higher cost and she didn’t have enough guts to do what’s right and sign the Bills that were affordable. Instead, she lumped them all together and vetoed all of them not to piss one group off. Well, now we’re all pissed off!

We should have known this Bill won’t get signed when Governor Hochul came out of the White House with Governor Walz, and Governor Moore and told the American public on July 3rd after meeting with President Biden, that Biden is totally fit to run for office and the Governors support him. Then 18 days later Biden drops out of the race after massive pressure from all sides. We all knew that Biden was a disaster and there was no way in hell he could hold office again but Governor Hochul came out and lied to New Yorkers and the American people. That alone is unforgivable.

As far as the TWU Local 106 -TSO is concerned, Governor Hochul turned out to be exactly as we expected… a total disaster! This is why we supported Lee Zeldin for Governor in the 2022/2023 election.

Governor Hochul must go and this Local will make sure that happens.
