Hubert Reardon

I started working for the Authority was a Bus Op on June 21, 1982. Six years later, on April 24, 1988, I was promoted to MaBSTOA Bus Dispatcher.

My work as a Union Rep began in 1989 as a Shop Steward, after which I became Recording Secretary in 2009. In 2011, I was elected Secretary-Treasurer of Local 106.

I always believed in unionism and particularly in seniority. Seniority is chief for me among workers’ rights. I’ve always felt it’s right that everyone get their turn when a promotion or other work opportunity comes up, and that no one is skipped over due to favoritism or for any other reason. This is especially the case when it comes to the right to pick, which is done by seniority.
