MTA Bus Contract Negotiations

A few weeks before the Local 100 contract expired on May 15th the Authority cut off all contract negotiations with all other Unions and focused all of their attention and resources on Local 100 and getting them a contract. I was and have been absolutely furious about this as I took this as a slap in the face to us Supervisors as we have been working for years without a raise and like that, their whole world stopped for 100 which is BS! Obviously I made every attempt to try and have an in person meeting with Labor Relations and the VP Annicaro so I can make my closing arguments about our contract, but it takes more than one person to have a meeting.

I returned from vacation this morning and the first thing I did was reach out to LR for that meeting. We talked and I was promised a meeting next week. There is always a chance that that meeting won’t come off, but know this… I’m doing all that I can to make it happen.

It comes down to this, I was given the opportunity to work out the details with the different departments and I did that. What we were able to agree on we did and what we couldn’t we couldn’t. But nothing has changed, all of our focus is on the MTA Bus contract and getting it done. I’m still feeling good about it, but we’ll see if they feel the same and if what we came up with is enough. If not then our peaceful tactics will change!

Thank you for your patience, I know times are tough and getting tougher everyday. I feel that pressure and I will do all that I can to get you what you rightfully deserve.
