President Philip Valenti’s 2024 New Years Message
I want to wish you and your family a Happy New Year filled with hope, health, and happiness. And I want you to know that the TSO’s #1 goal for 2024 is to get the Death Gamble Bill passed in Albany.
We will be focusing our resources and manpower into getting this incredibly important piece of Legislation passed. The TSO and the TWU International are leading the charge and we will not stop until we are successful. I am fully committed on taking whatever action is necessary to ensure that the families of those members who continue to work after they meet the 25/55 requirement and pass away before retiring, receive the full pension benefit their spouse earned while working most of their adult life for the NYC Transit Authority.
This injustice must and will be rectified and we fully intend to be the ones to make that happen!
